"Don't Lie" was a speed-painting done on the streets of Harlem, NYC at a Harvest Festival, of a little girl whose eyes seemed to plead for truth.
The charcoal, ink and gouache were applied with such speed, I had no time to think of her innocence in the balance of being preserved or being lost. It was only when the timer went off that I saw the small prayer in her gaze.
